Funeral services for Mary “Maggie” Magdalene Wisby Inman will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pitkin with Reverends Jeff James, Delbert Isbell, and Dale Poe officiating. The burial will follow in Blue Branch Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Tracy Cooley, Jared Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Levi Heflin, Ben Israel, Kevin Johnson, and Lane Gill.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 21st at Mt. Olive Baptist Church from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Maggie was born May 30, 1932, in Cravens, Louisiana and passed away August 19, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 91. She was a longtime resident of the Rosepine Community and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. For over 50 years she worked as a beautician. Maggie enjoyed cooking for her family. They were so important to her, and she loved staying in touch with her great-grandchildren and attending their activities.
Maggie was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Eli Inman; parents, James Arthur Wisby & Mary Savannah Johnson Wisby; brothers, L.V. Johnson & James Wisby; and sisters, Marie Wisby & Jewelene Gill.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jerry Inman and wife Benita of Pitkin, LA;
grandchildren, Jennifer Thompson and Tina Cooley & husband Tracy all of Pitkin;
great-grandchildren, Savannah Israel & husband Ben, Jared Thompson, Sadie Helfin & husband Levi, and Jacob Thompson;
great-great-grandchildren. Sarah Grace Wellman, Sydni Claire Wellman, and Beckett Israel;
brother, Milton Ray Wisby of Rosepine, LA;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
