Obituary for Mary Lou Cox Holt
Funeral services for Mary Lou Cox Holt will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Reverend George Swain officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14th and will continue until the time of service.
Mrs. Holt was born May 8, 1936 in Leesville, LA and passed away June 12, 2020 at the residence of her oldest daughter at the age of 84. She attended Anacoco High School and graduated in 1954. Mary enjoyed playing basketball during her high school years. She worked as a cook at West Leesville Elementary and East Leesville Elementary for 27 years. She loved reading her Bible, going to church, and watching basketball.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Bill Cox and Abby Cox; brother, Bud Cox; sister, Betty Larson; husband, Thurman “T.C.” Holt; and son, Danny Holt.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Carelton “Corky” Ball of Leesville,
daughters, Pamela Sikes and Donna Clum both of Leesville,
stepson, Mike Holt and family of Leesville and stepdaughter, Janice Williamson of Rosepine,
sister, Wanda Hollis of Anacoco;
grandchildren, Tommy “Deuce” Bailey, Corey Ball, Amanda Shackelford, Bron Clum, Marcus Bailey, Crystal Clum, Cheyenne Holt, Brooke Jeane, and Hannah McClain,
great grandchildren, Dylan Shackelford, Kaitlyn Shackelford, Annalisa Bailey, Haiden Bailey, Tristan Ball, Alexia Bailey, Destiny Bailey, Brayden Ball, Carsyn Bailey, and Hadley McDuffy,
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Bailey II, Marcus Bailey, Haiden Bailey, Bron Clum, Corey Ball, and Ethan Johnson.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tristan Ball.
Mrs. Holt’s family wishes to thank the host of friends and family for the words of comfort expressed.
