Obituary for Mary Elizabeth Luke Crochet
Mary Elizabeth Luke Crochet went to be with our Lord July 29, 2022, at 8:35 p.m. at home. She was a native of Houma, LA and a resident of Florien, LA.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jasper C. Crochet of 54 years; two daughters, Rebecca L. Crochet and Elizabeth R. Crochet Nelson & husband Patrick; granddaughter, Shawna E. Crochet (Bella); fur baby, Tucker Crochet all from Florien, LA; extended daughter, Sharon Miller & husband Thed from Yale, Michigan; four brothers, Michael Luke Sr., Mark Luke & wife Sandy, Tommy Luke Jr. & wife Angel, and Alvin Luke & wife Judy from Houma, LA; sister, Charlotte L. Hebert & husband Harrison from Maurice, LA; four sisters-in-law, Donnie Crochet Morrell, Theresa Crochet Ardoin, Patricia Crochet, and Dorothy Crochet; and several step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and extended family members.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Caldon J. Crochet; father, Thomas E. Luke Sr.; mother, Rosalie L. Luke; in-laws, Alfred & Gertrude Crochet; five nephews; and in-laws, Gloria, Ethel, Adolphus, and Alford Crochet.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a homemaker who loved praising God, singing canning, fishing, gardening, playing games, watching movies, reading books, and visiting. She loved and cherished her family, church family, and extended families. She never met a stranger and loved unconditionally.
Funeral services for Mary will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 1897 Rattan Road, Florien, LA 71429 with Reverends Jason Kees and Clinton Alford officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Mark Luke, Tommy Luke, Alvin Luke, Marvin Ardoin, Harrison Hebert, and Paul Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Nelson, Michael Luke, and Joshua Luke. A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday, July 31st from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
