The daughter of James and Lillian McKee, Louise was born February 27, 1948, in Shreveport, Louisiana. After battling cancer, she passed away at the age of 75 at her home in Pickering, Louisiana March 1, 2023, with her dear husband at her side.
Louise and Lee enjoyed watching their sons grow and excel in their careers, Shad as a Navy SEAL and Greg as a Chief Aviation Structural Mechanic. Louise took pride in her teaching background, shaping the future of Leesville and Killeen, Texas. She taught at Pickering Elementary before moving to the Killeen Independent School District – a career that spanned 20 years. After retiring from teaching, Louise continued to work alongside her younger brother and sister-in-law, James and Tonya at Star Pawn, Gun and Archery. There’s not much she couldn’t tell you about firearms. Louise’s love of animals was a staple throughout her life. She enjoyed raising and showing dogs and worked as a professional handler, showing dogs for other people. In her free time Louise liked to hunt and fish, and loved to take care of her dogs, cats, horses, chickens, peacocks, love birds, and more. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to Alaska, Tennessee, and specifically Kentucky to visit The Ark Encounter with her dear friend, Cathy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 53 years, Preston Lee Tucker of Pickering, LA; sons, Shad Tucker and wife Michelle of Sandia, TX and Greg Tucker and wife Emily of Ocala, FL; granddaughter, Harriet Tucker; brother, James McKee Jr. and wife Tonya of Leesville, LA; and extended family members.
Louise is truly loved and missed by all who knew her, especially her family. May she rest in peace.
