Obituary for Marvin Eugene Samuel
A memorial service for Marvin Eugene Samuel will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Crystal Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Rodney Hicks officiating. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mr. Samuel will be from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
Mr. Samuel was born on June 12, 1930, in Palestine, TX and passed away in DeRidder, LA on January 2, 2019, at the age of 78. He was a hard worker and self-employed in the oil field and pulpwood business. When it was legal, Mr. Samuel enjoyed raising fighting chickens. He also liked to hunt and fish.
Mr. Samuel was preceded in death by his parent, Raleigh and Epsie Samuel; son, Jim Samuel; daughter, Sharon Samuel; brother Marshall Samuel; and grandchildren Brandon and Kimberly Samuel.
Left to cherish their memories of him are his sons Raleigh Eugene Samuel of Hornbeck, LA and Kerry Dee Samuel of Little Elm, TX and seven grandchildren.
