Obituary for Martin "Marty" Loren Snyder
Martin “Marty” Loren Snyder was born October 28, 1967 in Leesville, LA and passed away May 4, 2021 in DeRidder, LA at the age of 53. He was currently employed as a heavy equipment operator but was also a jack of all trades. For many years, Marty worked for Southside in DeRidder and repaired farm equipment. He was a skillful worker and believed in doing a job right. Helping animals was a passion for Marty. He provided a home to animals that were considered misfits or that needed care. Most of all, Marty loved his family.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents, William Snyder and Janie Taylor Snyder.
Left to cherish his memory are his fiancée, Angel McLeod of DeRidder, LA;
children, David Smith and wife Allison, Holden Snyder and wife Sarah, and Kayla Snyder all of North Carolina, Jewel Snyder of DeRidder, and Justin McLeod of Canada;
brother, Michael Snyder;
aunt (whom he considered his mother), Trina Haymon and husband Harvey of Leesville, LA; aunt, Carol Roshong and husband Loman of Leesville, LA; aunt, Barbara McFarlin of Wichita Falls, TX;
cousins (whom he considered brothers and sisters), Tanya Collins, Rita Watkins and husband DeWayne, Sharon Hennigan, Rodney Haymon and wife Ionela, Stacy Woods and husband David, Kelly Billiot and husband John;
numerous grandchildren; and extended family members.
Marty’s family will plan a private memorial service at a later date.
