Obituary for Martha Jane Wellman
Funeral services for Martha Jane Wellman will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Reverends Wesley Jackson and Joe Wellman officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mrs. Wellman will be held at the church from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. on March 23rd.
Mrs. Wellman was born May 23, 1935 in Kinder, LA and passed away March 20 ,2020 in LaCamp, LA at the age of 84. Her love for Jesus was apparent in her life. She was a faithful member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church for about 60 years. Mrs. Wellman served as a Sunday School teacher and especially enjoyed Vacation Bible School. She lived most of her life in the LaCamp area where she was a homemaker and enjoyed using her green thumb to grow flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Wellman; son, Stephen Wellman; great grandson, Colton Wellman; parents, Beasley Baker Lightfoot and Lottie Ruth Eubanks Lightfoot; and sisters, Bessie O’Neal, Madeline Clark, Mary Parsley, and Virginia Rowell.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Stanley Wellman and wife Sherry of LaCamp, LA,
daughter, Iris Beck and husband Shawn of LaCamp, LA,
grandchildren, Trevor Wellman, Traci Settoon, Joseph Wellman, Jared Wellman, Joshua Wellman, and April Beck,
great grandchildren, Alex, Wendy, Lily, and Hudson,
sisters, Jannette Spell and Gayle Monk,
and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be Elray Wellman, Trevor Wellman, Joshua Wellman, and Jared Wellman.
