Margie would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can’t refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen in a long time. She left detailed instructions for her husband and children to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed.
Margie was well known for many things: her delight in joking and pulling pranks on many an unsuspecting victim, her insistence on bringing food to every event because “I know this is old ‘so and so’s’ favorite”, lovingly mothering many young people by gently correcting with an “Awww, foot” or “I swany” and her love of the land and her cows which kept her connected with God’s creation and her Daddy.
Margie loved her country home and couldn’t imagine leaving there except for her home eternal. You better bet she’s playing the piano and has everyone gathered around to sing “It Is Well” or some other great Southern Gospel hymn. She cherished her family, church, and gardening. If you left her house hungry or empty handed, it was because she wasn’t home.
