Obituary for Maria Delaluz Drake
Funeral services for Maria Delaluz Drake will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Jeane’s Funeral Service with Reverend Buddy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Community Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Maria was born May 20, 1955, in Villa Union, Mexico and passed away February 28, 2022, in Irving, Texas at the age of 66. She lived all of her life in the Irving and Grand Prairie, Texas area and worked as an administrative assistant for State Farm. At about the age of sixty, she completed college and earned an associate degree. Maria’s hobbies included crocheting, collecting things, taking care of her dogs, and gardening in her beautiful backyard. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law even though she lived hundreds of miles away from some of her family. They always knew how much she loved them.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian Vanderpol Sr. & Balvina Rodriguez Vanderpol and sisters, Clarissa Vanderpol and Rosita Singletary.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Joshua Eli Drake and wife Shelly of Many, LA and Thomas Roy Drake Jr. of Irving, TX;
granddaughters, Joshlyn Aeryona, Lyrica Skye, and Addyson Faithe Drake;
brothers, Adrian Vanderpol Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX and Guadelupe Osuna of Villa Union, Mexico;
sisters, Vanessa Vanderpol and Teresa Payne both of Arlington, TX;
and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
