Obituary for Margaret Cheryl Leger Bourgeois
A funeral service for Margaret Cheryl Leger Bourgeois will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, 2018, at The Church House with Reverend Lorraine Smith and Michael Leger officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be at The Church House on Sunday, May 20th from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Cheryl was born on May 17, 1947, in Iota, LA and passed away on May 18, 2018, in Leesville, LA at the age of 71. She was a passionate person who never met a stranger. For many years, she worked in retail at K-Mart and Wal-Mart and was a member of The Church House. Cheryl was a devoted mother who raised three sons. She was a collector of many things and loved animals, but most of all Cheryl enjoyed spending time with her family.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Allen Andrew Bourgeois Sr.; grandson, Seth Bourgeois; sister, Louise Duplantis; and brothers, J.D. Leger, Father Donald Leger, and Charles Leger.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Allen Bourgeois Jr. and wife Kim of Leesville, LA; Anthony Bourgeois and wife Donna of Thibodaux, LA; and Sterling Bourgeois and wife Kenisha of Lafayette, LA
Brothers: James Leger of Houma, LA and Michael Leger and wife Henrietta of Simpson, LA
Sisters: Irma Bergeron and husband Charles of Brookhaven, MS and Katherine Miller of Gray, LA
Grandchildren: Tana Bourgeois, Meagan Jasmund, Blake Bourgeois, Hunter Bourgeois, Ali Bourgeois, Dustin Bumgarner, Jenna Bumgarner, Janece Hawthorne, Haley Galland, Cassie Galland, and Trevor Galland
Great grandchildren: Ava Rose Jasmund, Braxton Rison, and Taylin Rison
and a host of extended family and friends.
