Obituary for Louis Ray Owers
A graveside service for Louis Ray Owers will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, in Oak Grove Cemetery in Hornbeck with Reverend Wesley Jackson officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Louis was born November 30, 1950, in Hornbeck, Louisiana and passed away April 14, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 72. He worked for many years as a truck driver. Louis loved staying busy outdoors and traveling. He attended First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville when his health permitted and had a friendly personality. He knew everybody and everybody knew him.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Louis Owers and Mable Vitamae Trotti Owers; brother, Howard Gerome Owers; and sister, Elizabeth Ann Ross.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Louis Ray Owers Jr. and Chris Owers both of Conroe, TX;
daughter, Lisa Mathis and husband Teddy of Conroe;
stepdaughter, Julie Lutz of Conroe;
four grandchildren;
sisters, Linda Fiddie of Leesville, Sue Johnson of Hornbeck, and Karen White and husband John of Illinois;
and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
