Obituary for Louis George Allen
Funeral services for Louis George Allen will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at Oak Forest Baptist Church with Reverend Bobby Ganaway officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Clarence Myers, Andrew Allen, Nathan Restine, John Williams, Marcus Williams, and Kendall Coker.
A visitation will be held at the church on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Louis was born February 4, 1937, in Warren, Texas and passed away December 6, 2022, in DeRidder, Louisiana at the age of 85. He lived in Vernon Parish most of his life and worked as a mechanic for 50 years. Louis liked to stay busy and since he had a green thumb, he spent many hours gardening. He also enjoyed watching and feeding birds.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver Allen and Ellen Rebecca Redmond Allen and sister, Julia Stephens.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Gentry Allen and wife Carla of Leesville, LA;
daughters, Alicia Coker of New Llano, LA and Angela Smith and husband Mark of Mountainburg, AR;
grandchildren, Shemery Williams and husband John, Amber King and husband Bradley, Kendall Coker and wife Crystal, Nekki Marsocci and husband Mark, Andrew Allen and wife Ruby, Ashley Restine and husband Nathan and Alicia Allen;
twenty great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren;
sister, Lucille Cox of DeQuincy, LA;
stepdaughter and caregiver, Thelma Creel;
and extended family members and friends.
