Funeral services for Linda Kay Duke will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Cooper Baptist Church with Reverend Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Linda was born July 21, 1957, in Santa Monica, California, and passed away September 5, 2022, in New Llano, Louisiana at the age of 65. She graduated from La Sierra High School in 1975 along with her best friend, Stormy. While living in California, Linda married Ricky Moore, and they soon moved to Leesville, LA. In 1996, she met Joe Duke. After they were married, they moved to Pickering, LA. Linda worked as a K.P. in the mess hall on Fort Polk and was a custodian at Pickering Elementary School for many years before her retirement. She was a member of Cooper Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, taking naps with her cat, Tiger, whom she adored, and collecting teacups. Linda was always considerate and caring to everyone she met. Her close friends were Stormy and Julie and together they were called the Three Amigos. Anytime you saw one, the other two weren’t far away. Linda loved her family dearly and considered her grandchildren to be the loves of her life.

Linda was preceded in death by her grandson, Tyler Lee Moore; parents, Richard & Mary Doust; and brother, Richard Doust.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe Duke;

children, Richard Moore, Amanda Haptonstall (Victor), and Laura Morales (Larenzo);

grandchildren, Brandon Stone, Leighann Moore, Megan Benites, Regan Moore, Adrianna Morales, Devin Morales, and Izabell Elkins;

great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Adeline;

sister, Cheryl Boggs (Glenn);

aunt, Kathy Snyder;

and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
