A graveside service for Linda Kay Davis Erwin will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Elisha Memorial Cemetery in Glenmora, LA with Pastor Donald Bornowski officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Greg Green, Briar Green, Josh Bornowski, Ricky Brown, and Patrick Green Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Fercho and Patrick Green Sr.
Linda Kay Davis Erwin was a loving great-grandmother, grandmother, mom, sister, aunt, wife, and friend to many. Linda was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “MawMaw”, as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, “Mom” by her three children, and “Momma” by her loving husband and best friend of 35 years, Michael Charles, departed her family suddenly on July 5, 2022, at the age of 63.
Linda was born in Pineville, LA on July 26, 1958, to Henry Davis Jr. and Aline Brooks Davis. She grew up surrounded by a large family with six siblings. She attended Leesville High School. Linda met the love of her life, Mike, through Mike’s brother who said that he knew a cute little girl back home who wanted to go out with him. So, of course, Mike said yes and that he would take her on a date when he got in from work and the rest is history. Linda and Mike traveled all over Texas with Mike’s Seismic Oil Exploration Job and Linda got to enjoy spending time with her kids. After returning home to Leesville, Linda began work at Star Pawn Gun & Archery, and for over 30 years she served her community. She was a hard worker and loved her children and grandchildren dearly. She loved all sorts of flowers and took enjoyment in her hummingbird feeders and decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween, and she loved participating in haunted houses with her family. Linda was known to dress up and hand out candy at the Pawn Shop on many occasions. Linda was always there ready to lend a helping hand and as we all know, when she pulled up with her car, no matter what task you were doing, she always managed to have just what you needed. Linda also loved Christmas with her family and was known to spoil her grandkids. One thing was for sure when you left her house, you were never hungry and needed a bigger vehicle to haul away all the presents she bought for her babies. Linda was a true giver and had a servant’s heart. She was a woman who instilled strong values in her children to carry on a legacy that will far outlive the future generation.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Michael Erwin Sr. of Hicks, LA; two sons and two daughters-in-law, David and Martha Vinson of Leesville, LA and Michael and Brandi Erwin of Hicks, LA; one daughter and son-in-law, Tabatha and Greg Green of Leesville; grandchildren, Chelsea “Paige”, Haley, Briar, Dawson, Destinee, and Gracelyn. Linda also leaves three great-grandchildren, Huxson, Coleson, and Jaicee; one brother, Ted Strother and his wife Johnnie of Conroe, TX; sisters, Barbara Mann and husband Herb of Lake Charles, LA and Susie Phillips and husband David of Simpson, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Davis Jr. and Aline Brooks Davis; brother, Michael Davis; and sisters, Betty Daniels and Marilyn Fercho.
Linda’s family would like to thank all of you for your prayers, calls, texts, and expressions of love during this time of loss.

If You Could See Me Now . . .
If you could only see me now, you wouldn’t shed a tear.
Though you may not understand why I’m no longer here.
Remember my spirit, that’s the real me.
I’m still very much alive, oh, if you could only see!
I’ve beheld our Father’s face. I’ve touched my Savior’s hand.
The angels all rejoiced as I entered the Promised Land.
Beyond the gates of pearl, I walk on golden streets.
I’ve touched the walls of jasper, dipped my foot in the crystal sea.
The beauty is beyond words, nothing can compare.
I’ve even seen your mansion; someday I will meet you there.
Allow Jesus to be your guide, His word will show you the way.
So, please, don’t cry! We will meet again someday!
