Obituary for Linda Elaine Haymon Nickerson
A graveside service for Linda Elaine Haymon Nickerson will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2021 in Leesville Cemetery with Reverend Richard Partridge officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Linda was born July 13, 1948 in Morganza, LA and passed away February 22, 2021 in Alexandria, LA at the age of 72. She was born and raised in Vernon Parish and graduated from Leesville High School in 1966. She worked as a medical records consultant and traveled the world. After retiring in 2014, Linda stayed home with her grandsons. She loved following her “boys” and attending their sporting events. Throughout the rodeo world, she was known and MawMaw Linda and by the referees as “That MawMaw”. Linda took in many kids as one of her own and left a legacy of caring for others.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Allan Nickerson Jr. “Nick”; mother, Louise Cathleen Spurgeon Haymon; father, Lloyd Luther Haymon; and sister, Patsy Louise Varnell Allement.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Debra Partridge and husband Robert “Poochie” of Anacoco, LA; Brenda Richardson and husband Steven of Fountain, CO; and Allinda Sue Grooms and husband Nathan of Anacoco, LA,
daughter-in-love, Kimberly Ledano of Alexandria, LA,
brother, Micheal E. Haymon of Leesville, LA,
sisters, Debra Everett and husband John of Paamul, Mexico, Kathy Haymon, Marci Nickerson, and Jane Beltz and husband John all of Leesville, LA,
grandchildren, Braxton Allan Nickerson Grooms, Trevor-Marc Laine Nickerson Grooms, J.D. Hilker Grooms, Mason Paddy, Madison Paddy, Keeley Richardson, Macayla R. Hing and husband Altin, Robert Allan Casey Partridge, Jared Charles Tyler Partridge, Austen Jacoby Laine Partridge, and Lauren Brooke Partridge,
great grandchildren, Myles Vann Allan Partridge and Emmett Charles Daniel Partridge,
and a host of nieces and nephews, as well as rodeo and ball family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to Vernon Parish 4-H Shooting Sports. Please mail donations to Rick Clark 6722 Hwy. 111 Anacoco, LA 71403.
