Obituary for Lillie Wilmuth Hughes Seagrave Davis
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2020 at 2:00pm at Beckom Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. There will be a visitation at Hornbeck United Methodist on Tuesday June 9, 2020 from 10:00am until the time of service. Words of comfort may be posted at www.jeanesfs.com.
On June 4, 2020, Lillie Wilmuth Hughes Seagrave Davis went home to meet our Lord and Savior. She was born January 1, 1922, at home in Hornbeck, LA. She graduated from Hornbeck High School and went to work at Camp Polk. She then traveled north, met and married our father in New Jersey, and they worked vaudeville and in the U.S.O. Lillie was a proud senior Olympian for six years. In 1988, she married her friend T. J. David only to lose him three months later to cancer.
She was preceded on her trip home by our father, Leon William (Bill) Seagrave, T.J. Davis, her parents, William Benjamin Hughes and Mary Ella Koonce Hughes, sisters, Zelia E. Hughes Ferguson, Mary L Hughes, Gladys L Hughes Davenport, Beatrice Hughes Beebe, brothers, George B Hughes, Walter Clarence Hughes, sons, Donald Seagrave, Billy Ray Ferguson, David Leon Seagrave, and great grandson Cooper Gilcreast.
Left to cherish her beloved memory are her children, Mary Ferguson, Anna Stephenson and Hugh, William Benjamin (Ben) Seagrave, Catherine Dubois and Ron, and Steven M. Seagrave,
grandchildren, Patricia, William, Barbara, LaWanda, Dana, Vickey, Andy, Skyler, Alan, William, Austin, and Emily,
and 14 great and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ethen Stephenson, Aiden Stephenson, Andy Gilcreast, Skyler Gilcreast, Ron Dubois, Alan Maines, Connor Gilcreast, Noah Gilcreast, and Nathan Seagrave
