She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 60 years, Philip A. North; son, Philip A. North Jr.; brothers, Buford Owens, Hermon Owens, Daulton Owens, Douglas Owens, and Bruce Owens; and sisters, Aline (Sis) Saunier and Doris Craighead.
She is survived by her son, Owen North; daughter, Margaret Rascoe (Sonny); daughter-in-law, Jamie North; grandchildren, Twila Alford (Rand), Paul North, Jon David North, and Tommie Ann Bratton; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Lavonne Pugh, Edna Davis, Wanda Owens, and Marlene (Butch) Davis; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Our sweet Mamaw and Mother went to see her Jesus November 3, 2021, while sleeping peacefully at her daughter’s home. She had 99 years of living her life for her family and for her church. She would be the first to tell you that she was at peace with her maker and ready to go home to see her Jesus and husband. As grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they had the wonderful privilege of growing up close to her and got to slam the screen door running in and out all day, and she never complained that they were under foot and always had something interesting to do. She would paint with them, watched songbirds from her kitchen counter, decorated cakes, explored Granny Bear’s farm, enjoyed many wonderful meals, cookies and treats, stories, and spent lots of quality time. She adored her children, her grands, and great-grandchildren, always making sure they had their favorite treats and toys available at her home. Her church family, sisters, and family can attest to her dedication to others and her sweet kindness. She definitely lived what she believed. There are just not enough words to describe all her good works and thoughtfulness.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rand Alford, Paul North, Jon North, Alex Magee, Andrew Magee, and Anthony Mann.
