Obituary for Lena Bell Hunt
Funeral services honoring the life of Lena Bell Shockley Hunt will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 2:00PM at Green Chapel Church of God, Hwy. 2, Oak Grove, LA 71263 with Bro. Bill Moden officiating. Visitation will begin that day at the church at 12:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow in Redwing Cemetery, Goodwill, LA under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Local visitation will be held on Friday, August 12, 2016, from 12:00 " 9:00 PM at Oak Forest Baptist Church, Leesville, LA. Lena Bell Shockley Hunt was born on January 28, 1931, to Thomas Harris and Ludie Mae Shockley in Oak Grove, Louisiana. She passed away on August 9, 2016, at her home in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 85. She had been a resident of Vernon Parish for over 60 years and was a homemaker. Lena enjoyed working with ceramics, quilting, crocheting, and traveling as well as being a mother and cooking for her family. She was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church. Lena will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, and son - Harold Posner. She is survived by her sons: Wayne and wife Wanda Hunt of Leesville, LA, Tommy and wife Vickie Hunt of Leesville, LA, Ernest and wife Darlene Hunt of Morgan City, LA, Jonnie Lee Hunt of Morgan City, LA, and Gary Hunt of Leesville, LA Daughter " Linda Hunt of Leesville, LA Brother: Russ and wife Joy Shockley of MerRouge, LA 16 Grandchildren 13 Great-Grandchildren, and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren
