Obituary for Larry Wayne Thompson
Funeral services for Larry Wayne Thompson will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Galilee Baptist Church with Reverends Wade Carroll and George Jeane officiating. Burial will follow in Evans Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time will be held at the church beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26th and will continue until the time of service.
Larry was born November 6, 1951 and passed away February 24, 2020 at the age of 68. He was a lifelong resident of the Leesville/Evans area and worked for many years installing insulation. Larry also repaired small engines and lawnmowers for his Evans’ peeps. He was a member of Asbestos Workers Local 112. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting, and just sitting around a fire.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Carsie “Dare” Thompson and Charlene Thompson; sister, Ruby Davis; and nephew, Michael Thompson.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Thelma Jean Thompson of Evans, LA,
brothers, Carl Thompson and wife Brenda of Evans, LA; Tommy Thompson and wife Lana of Ashland, KY; and L.D. Thompson and wife June of Talladega, AL,
sister, Sharon Nash and husband Kelly of Evans, LA,
stepson, Ron Bare of Waverly, TN,
stepdaughters, Pam Broderick of Leesville, LA; Brenda McClain and husband Roger of Waverly, TN; Monica Mallard of Dixon, TN; and Robin Leach of Evans, LA,
step grandchildren, Crystal, Christopher, Josh, Kayla, Ashlee, Brady, Brittney, and C.J.,
step great grandchildren, Addison, Jacey, Aden, Ryker, Novalee, Jaylen, Rowen, Julian, Caleb, Payton, Hagen, and Hudson,
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Keith Thompson, Claude Thompson, Luther Thompson, Brady Mallard, Ronnie Miller, and John Nash.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carsie Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Edward Bonner, and H.E. Jarrell.
