There will be a visitation for Mr. Gass at Martin and Castille Funeral Home’s downtown location, 330 St. Landry Street Lafayette, LA, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m on Friday, April 13th. The visitation will continue Saturday at Crystal Springs Baptist Church in Anacoco, LA from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mitchell Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Mr. Gass leaves to cherish his memory his loving companion, Jennie Higginbotham and her family, Mark and Chrissie Benoit; two sons, Jon-Michael Gass and his wife Khristie, and Christopher H. Gass and his wife Melissa; one daughter, Lori Lincoln and her husband A.J.; and seven grandchildren, Blair Gass, Hunter Benoit, Cole Lincoln, Adam Gass, Chase Lincoln, Jude-Michael Gass, and Grayson Gass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Bethel Hall Gass; two sisters, Karen Gass and Patricia Gass; and one brother, Charles Robert Gass.
Larry H. Gass was a loving father, companion, grandfather, and friend. He was born in Leesville, LA and was a resident of Duson for over 20 years. Larry was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as Staff Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Larry worked for the Lafayette Consolidated Government at the Lafayette Public Library. After 23 years of work at the library, he retired and spent his time caring for his yard, hunting, camping, and visiting with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Jon-Michael Gass, Christopher Gass, Mark Hunter, Cole Lincoln, Blair Gass, Charley Martin, Andy Anderson, and A.J. Lincoln.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Anderson, Will Jenkins, and Mike Piper.
