Obituary for Kenneth Lamar Fletcher
Kenneth Lamar Fletcher was born May 31, 1940, in Pickering, Louisiana. He passed from this life at the age of 82 to his heavenly home on January 10, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana.
Kenneth was a lifelong resident of the Pickering community where he raised his family alongside his wife of 56 years. Together, they established a reputable peach orchard on their homestead in Pickering, which he owned and operated for over 50 years. A man of strong work ethic, Kenneth also owned a water well business, and worked for the Vernon Parish Police Jury as a heavy equipment operator. Kenneth enjoyed an active life of gardening, raising animals, and dirt track racing. When he wasn’t working, Kenneth enjoyed building and flying model airplanes, and tending to his beehives.
The family looks forward to visiting with extended family and friends to share memories of Kenneth’s 82 years walking this earth. The visitation will be held at Jeane’s Funeral Service in Leesville, La., on Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.
Graveside services for Kenneth will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Cryer Cemetery.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rae Fletcher and his parents, Ernie Calvin Fletcher and Elsie Davis Fletcher.
Those left to cherish his memory are son, Dwayne Fletcher of Leesville, LA; daughter, Debbie (Matt Hicks) of St. Marys, GA; grandchildren, Curtis Fletcher (Mandy), Justin Fletcher (Sequoia), Chasta Moore (Brett), and Miranda Fulford (Matt); great grandchildren, Dylan, Nolan, Lyla, Jackson, Caden, Alyssia, Alexis, Noah, Mila, Jolie, Saylor, Brantley, Charlie, Huckley, and Huckleberry.
Pallbearers are Curtis Fletcher, Justin Fletcher, Farrion Fletcher, Doug Fletcher, Brandon Goins, and Matt Hicks.
