Funeral services for June Frances Gasiewski Goodwin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023, at Jeane’s Funeral Service. The burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Anthony W. Kizer, Brenden Z. Keiper, Anthony D. Kizer, Donald W. Keiper, Andy Goodwin, and Robert Wayne Maddox. The honorary pallbearer will be Country L. Kizer. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s on Thursday, May 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
June was born June 3, 1942, in Hamtramck, Michigan and passed away May 1, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 80. She was a longtime resident of the Hicks Community and was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Church. June worked in housekeeping at the Landmark Hotel and The Woodlands Nursing Home. Some of her hobbies were bowling, playing bingo, visiting the casino, embroidering, traveling, watching Days of Our Lives, and going on walks. When she was younger, June liked to ice skate and play tennis. She enjoyed collecting collectibles and was a fan of the Detroit Tigers. Spending time with her family was very important to her.
June was preceded in death by her husband, William Lenard Goodwin Jr.; parents, Joseph Gasiewski & Rose Gasiewski; brothers, Ronald Gasiewski & Joseph Gasiewski, and sister-in-law, Barbara Gasiewski.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammy Goodwin (Anthony Kizer), Bobbie Jo Rose Keiper (Donald), and Kim June Goodwin all of Hicks, LA;
grandchildren, Anthony Kizer (Winter), Country Kizer, and Brenden Keiper;
sisters, Rose Grenke (Dave) and Mary Ann Flinn (Duncan) all of Michigan;
sister-in-law, Joanne Gasiewski;
and extended family members.
