Julia was born on July 19, 1963 in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She graduated to her eternal resting place at her home, in Leesville, LA on August 30, 2024 at the age of 61.
Julia was the daughter of James, and the late Molly Gulledge. Though originally from Texas she grew up in Shreveport, LA with her parents and brother, Michael.
Julia married the love of her life Bobby Ganaway, shortly after graduating from high school and they quickly began a family. They spent 42 beautiful years together. They raised three sons, and showed them how to love the Lord; as well how to be devoted spouses and loving parents. Her family continued to grow and she eventually became a Nana to twelve grandchildren, whom she loved profoundly.
Julia led a faith filled life, and had a heart for ministry. That passion spanned the entirety of her life.
Her heart for missions was also big, leading her and family to serve in places like Russia, Israel, Africa, and South Korea.
From Texas to Russia to Louisiana. She and Bobby eventually took roots in Leesville, LA to pastor Christian Living Fellowship, where she served as the mother of the church for 27 years; as well as being the worship team pastor for 13 of those years. She showcased her piano playing abilities and singing talent for many years in the church.
Julia had quite the creative side. If there was an idea she had to create something, she put mind to it and nothing could stop her. Whether that be musically, crafting, cooking, baking.. you name it. She could do it!
Julia also had a great passion for teaching and served in children ministry for many years prior to moving to Leesville. She later went on to get her Master's Degree in Education and served the Vernon Parish School Board as a teacher at Leesville Junior High School. She truly enjoyed teaching and helping mold the minds of our young people.
Not only was Julia an amazing daughter, wife and mother to her three sons, but she was the spiritual mother to a multitude of people and her absence is one that will be felt by many.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother Molly Gulledge and nephew, Zachary "Zac" Gulledge.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Ganaway of Leesville, LA; her children, son Kaleb(Shawna) Ganaway, son Kyle(Daniella) Ganaway and son Kolby(Sarah) Ganaway, all of Leesville; her grandchildren Nevaeh, Jordyn, Gabriel, Sage, Izabella, Bryton, Ronalyn, Lucy, Arielle, Kyle, Jude, and Shiloh; her father, James Gulledge of Shreveport, La; her brother, Michael(Donna) Gulledge of Dyersburg, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
