Obituary for Juanita Louise Christensen
Graveside services for Juanita Louise Gordy Christensen will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery with a United States Army chaplain officiating.
Juanita Louise Green Christensen was born on August 15, 1939, in Hicks, LA and passed away on September 23, 2021, in Leesville, LA. Juanita graduated from Hicks High School. She then joined the United States Women’s Army Corps and proudly served her country. She met her husband of nearly 60 years, Norman, while they were both stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia. They raised their family of 5 children together and enjoyed the simple farm life. She loved to garden and take care of her home and family. She truly enjoyed her grandchildren and watching them grow. She will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Dorothy Gordy, husband, Norman Gail Christensen, sister, Tommie Jean (Gordy) Addison, and brother, Thomas Alvin Gordy.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Christensen and wife Tammy of Anacoco, LA, Gregory Christensen and Anthony Christensen, both of Leesville, LA;
daughters, Linda Horton and husband Ray, of Natchitoches, LA, and Rebecca Colyer and husband Marty of North Vernon, IN;
siblings, Nettie Lee Gordy (Overton), Robert Allen Gordy (Jeanette) both of Hicks, LA, Eileen Gordy Wilson (Ricky) of Leander, LA and Millie Gordy Haymon (Charles) of Leesville, LA;
10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
