Obituary for Juana Santiago
Juana Santiago was born on June 4, 1934, in Cayey, Puerto Rico and passed away on September 10, 2019, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 85. A rosary for Mrs. Santiago will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2019 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church and a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14th at the church.
Mrs. Santiago previously lived in New York City before moving to Leesville where she has resided for the past fifteen years. She was a homemaker and babysat children in her home. Over the years, she raised her own children and multiple generations of others as well. Mrs. Santiago loved dogs and rescued many. To her loved ones, she was known as Ma and she was so beloved, that everyone would ask for her blessing when meeting or parting by saying, “Bendicion?” in which she would respond with her blessing, “Que Dios te bendiga”.
Mrs. Santiago was preceded in death by her husband, Theodoro Santiago; daughters, Brenda Santiago and Ivette Santiago; and son, Roland Santiago.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Yolanda Roman and husband George Roman Jr.
sons, Jamie Santiago, Osvaldo Santiago, Victor M. Santiago and wife Helen, and Thomas Santiago
grandchildren, Hector, Michael and wife Cynthia, George, Jennifer and husband David, Leslie, Jamie and wife Ashley, Justin, Jalyn, Saavik, Thomas II, Jason, Victoria, Brenden, Zen, and Leia
great grandchildren, Isabella, Olivia, Anthony, Alexa, George, Savina, Brandon, Anya, Jennalize, Mia, Tommy, Tessa, Lily, Samantha, Emma, and Dash
and her best friend, Elba Torres.
