Obituary for Joy Nell "Pud" Hillman
Joy Nell (Pud) Hillman October 9, 1974, Joy Nell "Pud" Hillman was born in Alexandria, Louisiana to Vernell and Jo Ann Lynch Hillman. On August 1, 2014, God sent his angels to transport Joy to heaven, to sing in his Heavenly choir at the age of 39 years, 9 months and 23 days. Joy Nell "Pud" was a life resident of the Simpson/Hutton area where she was a 1992 graduate of Simpson High School. She played basketball and was a varsity player in the 7th grade . Pud then attended and graduated from Northwestern State University and came back home where she worked for the Vernon Parish School Board at Simpson High school. She taught and loved special needs children for the past 18 years. Her love for music and serving the Lord was evident by her having sang with Hearts United Quartet for 16 years, and she sang all across the area in churches and at special events. She was a founding member of The Church House Church, but her greatest passions were her children, family, and doing all she could do to help others and serving the Lord. Services honoring her life will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at 10:00 A.M. in the Church House at 2013 Alexandria Hwy. with Pastors Lorraine Smith and Saundra Hillman Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Comrade Cemetery on Comrade Cemetery Rd. under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service of Leesville. Visitation will be on Monday, August 4, 2014, from 4:00 P.M.until 10:00 P.M. at the Church House 2013 Alexandria Hwy. Visitation will resume at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday and continue until service time. She is survived by her son: Logan of Hutton LA, three daughters: Laiken and Lori of Hutton, LA and Shelby of Winnsboro, LA, parents: Vernell "Buddy" and Jo Ann Hillman of Hutton, one brother: John Alexander of Lansing, Kansas (Latonia), Aunts: Maurice Hagan (Daniel), Yvonne Hall, and Donna Blair (Darrell) and Marie McCullum, niece: Ragen Alexander, and nephews: Briton and Ethan Alexander. Also, a host of close cousins, her (Second Dad) Douglas Martin, and her Church family. She is preceded in death by a daughter: Morgan La Nae Wiggins, her grandparents: Aubrey and Loraine Hillman, Furman and Joy Lynch, Aunts: Aunt Linda Griskelis, her beloved Uncle Tommy Hall, and Wilson Lynch. Pallbearers will be Patrick Martin, John Blair, Logan Taylor, Christian Stuckey, Skyler Merriman, and Devin Thomas Honorary Pallbearers will be: Alton Knight, Archie Smith, Trent Fuselier, Darrell Blair, Douglas Martin, Daniel Hagan, and Elroy Taylor.
