Obituary for Johnnie Dalton Hunt
Funeral services for Johnnie Dalton Hunt will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 7491 Kurthwood Road Leesville, LA, with Reverends Joe Call and Roger Dale Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Castor Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15th at Oak Forest Baptist Church with no definite ending time. Visitation will resume Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Hunt was born on September 26, 1928, and passed away on January 11, 2018, at the age of 89. He was born and raised in DeRidder, LA. Later in life, Mr. Hunt moved to Morgan City, LA where he owned a roofing business. After moving to Leesville, LA in the late 1970s, he became an avid gardener.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Dalton and Mary Ann Hunt and five brothers, Douglas, Clarence, Edward, J.W. and Floyd Hunt.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter: Linda Hunt of Leesville, LA
Sons: Wayne Hunt and wife Wanda of Leesville, LA; Tommy Hunt and wife Vickie of Morgan City, LA; Ernest Hunt and wife Darlene of Morgan City, LA; Johnnie Lee Hunt of Morgan City, LA; and Gary Hunt of Leesville, LA
Twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Chad Hunt, Michael Hunt, Michael Doyle, Nick Hunt, Jason Hunt, and Frankie Morgan.
