Obituary for John Robert Ellis Jr.
A graveside service for John Robert Ellis Jr. will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at the Central Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial with military honors will follow.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12th at Jeane’s Funeral Service in Leesville.
Mr. Ellis was born on February 23, 1933, in San Antonio, TX, and passed away on June 8, 2018, in Pickering, LA at the age of 85. He retired from the Army after serving for 22 years. Mr. Ellis also worked in construction, sold insurance, and worked for Cubic in role play. He was a member of the VFW and was a former commander of the American Legion. Some of the things he enjoyed doing were bowling, fishing, gardening, and cooking.
Mr. Ellis was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert Ellis Sr. and Gladys Mae Ellis and sister, Elnora Ellis.

Daughter: Candace Welch Holt of Pickering, LA
Brother: James Henry Ellis of San Antonio, TX
Grandchildren: Lauren Ellis, Jocie Ellis Hickey and husband Robert, William Klein, Christopher Davis, and BriAnna Holt
Great grandchildren: Charles Hickey and Victoria Klein
and a host of extended family and friends.
