Obituary for John "Johnny" L. Martin Sr.
Funeral services for John “Johnny” L. Martin Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Crystal Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mr. Martin will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on July 12th at Crystal Springs Baptist Church.
Mr. Martin was born on December 28, 1955, in Many, LA and passed away on July 9, 2019, in Leesville, LA at the age of 63. He graduated from Anacoco High School in 1975 and worked in construction for most of his life. Mr. Martin was a hard worker and an excellent carpenter and electrician. There wasn’t anything that he couldn’t build. Mr. Martin had a heart of gold and would help anyone who needed it. He especially liked to make people laugh. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing. Most of all, Mr. Martin loved spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Austin and Zelma Dean Martin and brothers, Edward Martin, Carter Martin, and Carl Ray Martin.

sisters, Jeanette Martin and Gerald of Anacoco, LA and Debbie Gilcrease and husband Bill of Leesville, LA
grandchildren, Ali Lawrence and husband Lane of Pickering, LA; Shali Fork of Lafayette, LA; Hannah, Averie, and Hunter Fulton all of Ocean Springs, MS; Devyn and Jaryt Welch of Simpson, LA; Kyley Lindsey of Leesville, LA; Caleb Wright of Leesville, LA; and Kobe, Rylee, and McKenzie Stanley of Cravens, LA
