Obituary for John "Jack" Wayne Horton
John “Jack” Wayne Horton was born on June 24, 1947, in Indianola, Mississippi and passed away January 24, 2022, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 74. He was a hard-working man who worked for many years as an EMT then as an EMT instructor. After that, Jack worked for the Bunkie Wastewater System, and was honored to have their new plant named after him. His last job before retirement was for the Louisiana Rural Water Association, and he traveled throughout western Louisiana assisting various Wastewater Facilities with any situation they faced. Jack had a carefree and happy spirit. He enjoyed watching television, he especially loved Football and of course LSU and the New Orleans Saints were his favorite teams. He had a great love for his family and this love extended to many others whom he loved just like family. The apple of his eye were his two twin granddaughters, Sophia and Emma, whom he loved dearly. He was very proud of his three great grandsons.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Horton III and Julia Ruth Kain Horton and brother William Michael Horton.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 34 years, Linda Redmon Horton of Leesville, LA; son Shannon Wayne Horton and wife Melanie of Lafayette, LA;

Grandchildren, Matthew & Cameron Horton and Courtney, Beth Anne , Sophia & Emma
Great grandchildren, Oren, Ryker, & Niko
Sister, Beky Street and husband Carl of Leland, IL;
Extra grandchildren, Madison Wilson and Maycee Holt who loved their Papa Jack with all their hearts.
