Obituary for John Franklin Wilson
John F. Wilson, son of Seamon and Nora Dewitt Wilson, was born in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia on March 12, 1934. He Joined the United States Army and eventually was stationed at “Camp Polk” where he met the love of his life, his honey, Belle Carr. They married in 1958, remained in Leesville and spent 62 years of life together. He retired from the Vernon Parish School Board system after 34 years. Mr. Wilson passed away May 27th in Alexandria at the age of 87. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Marlin Wilson of Leesville, Bryan Wilson and wife Sherry of Greenville, South Carolina and his daughter, Cheryl Wilson Mango of Leesville, 7 grandchildren Michael Wilson, Karen Wilson Ralston (Bobby), Tiffany Mango, Jessica Mango Pilgrim (John Robert), Roy Wilson (Danielle), Cole Wilson, and Brandy Wilson Piddock (JP), four great grandchildren, Robert, Ryker, Lailyn, and Addalyn, one sister Ellen Wilson Farresa of West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, four sisters and son-in-law Michael Mango. He adored and honored his wife, treasured his children and spoiled his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed “Forever and Ever, Amen!” The family would like to thank the caregivers at Heart of Hospice and Rapides Regional Medical Center for providing compassionate care and making Mr. Wilson’s final days peaceful.
A funeral service for Mr. Wilson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Old Anacoco Baptist Church with Reverend Lloyd Handorf officiating. Burial will follow in Old Anacoco Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s Funeral Service on Friday, May 28, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and at Old Anacoco Baptist Church on Saturday, May 29th from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m.
