Obituary for John Edward Merchant
Funeral services for John Edward Merchant will be held on Tuesday, December 8. 2015 at 1:00 P.M. in the LaCamp United Pentecostal Church 7241 Hwy 121 Hineston, La. 71432 with Reverends James Hebert, Ennis Bonnett and Greg Mortenson officiating. Burial will follow in the LaCamp Pentecost Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service of Leesville. Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2015 at the LaCamp Pentcostal Church beggining at 11:00 A.M. and continue until service time on Tuesday. Mr. Edward was born November 26, 1931 in Hineston, La. to George Mitchell and Susie Morrison Merchant and passed away on December 5, 2015 at the age of 84 years and 10 days. He was a life resident of the LaCamp area where he worked in the pulpwood and timber industry. He worked as a mechanic in Alexandria but operated the LaCamp garage for over 20 years and worked for Mr. Roland Warwick on the Vernon Parish Police Jury for 8 years but most of all as he said, " a jack of all trades but master of none!. He married the love of his life on October 27, 1951 and loved spending time with his family and would call and check on each grandchild daily and called each great grandchild every night to tell them," nite nite, paw paw loves you." He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the LaCamp Pentecostal Church Survivors are his wife of 64 years Bobbie Jean Doherty of LaCamp, La. One daughter and son in law: Sandra "Sandy" and Kenneth Wiggins of Hicks, La. One sister: Doris Jean Allbritton of Leesville, La Grandchildren: John William Hunt Jr and wife Jackie , Joseph "Joey" Edward Hunt and wife Kaitlyn, Jessica Michell Page and husband Brandon, Dakota Wiggins and wife Tori and Heather "LeAnn Cryer and husband Jeffery. Great Grandchildren: Tray Norris, Chasity Hunt, Natalie Norris, Brylee Hunt, Maidson Page, Cole Hunt, Nathaniel Page, Dyami Rock, Hadley Dougherty, Katie Lyn Hunt, Rowen Wiiggins, Emma Wiggins, Kane Hunt, Baylen Cryer, Lucy Hunt, Cheveyo Hunt, Susie Hunt and Casten Cryer Pallbearers will be: John Hunt Jr., Joseph "Joey" Hunt, Dakota Wiggins, Brandon Page, Jeffery Cryer, Tray Norris Honorary Pallbearers: Thomas Norris, Herbert Dousay, Billy Adkins and Roland Warwick Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www. jeanesfs.com Isaiah 40:31 �But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.�
