Obituary for JoAnn LaVergne Mitchell
Funeral services for Jo Ann Lavergne Mitchell will be held Saturday, Feb 22, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Burr Ferry United Pentecost Church with Reverends. M.C. Green and James Herrington officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery on Hwy 8 Leesville under the guidance of Jeane's Funeral Service . Visitation will begin on Friday, February 21, 2014 at 5:00 pm at the church until 10:00 pm and then from 8:00 am on Saturday until service time at the church. Mrs. Mitchell passed away on Tuesday at her residence. She was born on June 27, 1950 to Dempsy and Ethel Bell Lavergne in Lake Charles La. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved to help senior citizens and children and was a former school bus driver for the VPSB and had been a driver for the Council on Aging. She also had worked as a child care worker at the Leesville First Assembly Day Care and as a teachers aide. Working in her garden and teaching kids how to swim and fish gave her great joy along with serving her Lord at Burr Ferry United Pentecost Church. Preceding her in death was her parents, brother; Randy Lavergne and sister; Joyce Brown Survivors are her husband of 44 " years Gayland Mitchell of Leesville One son and daughter in law: Kade and Shonda Mitchell of Leesville Daughters and sons in law Darla Kay and Merle Sander of Leesville Gayla "Huffy"and Mark Goodin of Leesivlle Four Sisters: Lois Wilson, Debbie Guillory, Sandy Landrino, and Becky Austin all of Moss Bluff Two Brothers: Ricky Lavergne and Buddy Lavergn both of Bluff, La Nine Grandchildren and host of other family and friends
