Obituary for Jimmie Douglas Jeter
Funeral services for Jimmie Douglas Jeter will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Flactor Baptist Church with Reverend Louis Magee and Brother James Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mr. Jeter will be held at Jeane’s Funeral Service from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th.
Jimmie was born June 2, 1937 in Pitkin LA and passed away February 3, 2020 at his home in Hick, LA at the age of 82. He was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish and a 1956 graduate of Simpson High School. For 26 years, Jimmie served the people of Vernon Parish as a Deputy Sherriff. He enjoyed being at home tinkering with his farm equipment and tractor. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his father, Judge Lee Jeter, stepmother Willie Mae Jeter, and granddaughters, Miranda and Kristen Jeter.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Reggie Jeter and wife Mary of Haughton, LA and Tony Jeter and wife Callie of Batavia, OH,
daughter, Michele Owers of Anacoco, LA,
grandchildren, Jason Perdue, Amanda Bracksieck and husband Curtis, Jared Jeter, and Harlan Jeter,
great grandson, Dallas Bracksieck,
and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be Jason Perdue, Jared Jeter, Harlan Jeter, Curtis Bracksieck, Gary Dunn, and Dwayne Poe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Poe, Frank Alderson, and Charlie Alderson.
Jimmie’s family extends a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice, RN Amy Hinton, CNA Dametris Clayton, and sitters – Kathy Goodwin and Sarah Cooley.
