Obituary for Jerry Lynn Jeane
Jerry Lynn Jeane passed away at home surrounded by family on Monday, January 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at the age of 61 in Leesville, Louisiana.
He was born in Odessa, Texas to parents James Maxie Jeane and Peggy Lou Eaves Jeane.
Jerry was a graduate of Pickering High School and went on to develop his career of carpentry. He was a master of all skills with his hands. There weren’t many tasks that Jerry couldn’t do from slab to roof. He was a skillful woodworker and created many cherished pieces for his family. Jerry was known for his love for his family and the outdoors. He was a believer in living a simple life.
Jerry was nicknamed “Pawpaw” before he even was a grandfather. He was the patriarch of a large, blended family.
Jerry is preceded in death by his father, Maxie Jeane. He is survived by his mother, Peggy Jeane and wife of over 20 years, Debra Jeane and children James Jeane (wife, Jessica), Jesse Jeane, Peggy Pennington Stanford (husband, Josh), Cherish Jeane, and Alyssa Brack; stepchildren, Gary Black, William Brack, Malina Lowell, Bobby Brack, Kyle Brack, Michael Charles Brack; grandchildren, Gage, James Jr., Keegan, Addison, Ruth, Dylan, Hollie, Preston, Parson, Haylee, Payton, Jesse Jr., Kaiden, Kentleigh, and Brandon; and a host of great grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his three brothers, Roger Jeane, Kevin Jeane, and Paul Jeane.
Services to celebrate the joyful and hardworking life of Jerry will be at Canaan Baptist Church. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, January 14th at 4:00 p.m. for immediate family and 5:00 p.m. for friends. The funeral will be held Friday, January 15th at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Jason Nolde officiating. Burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
