Jerry was born December 12, 1959 and passed away January 11, 2021 at the age of 61. He worked as a corrections officer for 27 years and retired at the rank of major. Jerry was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints and an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a gifted artist who carved wood and could create pieces without a pattern. Jerry had a friendly personality, and his sense of humor often made him the life of the party. The most important thing to him was his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Theophilus Harold LaCaze and Exie Iona Wellman LaCaze; son, Jerry Dale LaCaze; and brother, Joseph Martin LaCaze.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Doris Lynn Morgan LaCaze of Leesville, LA,
daughters, Nancy Suzanne LaCaze Hurst of Berea, KY and Twaila Lynette LaCaze of Leesville, LA,
honorary daughters, Brittany Funderburk and Tammy Cryer both of Leesville, LA,
brothers, James H. LaCaze and wife Diane of Simpson, LA; Jean Roger LaCaze and wife Breta of Hineston, LA; and Joe L. LaCaze and wife Cindy of Simpson, LA,
sisters, Jeannette Marie Farmer of Hineston, LA and Judy LaCaze-Manning and husband Jim of LaCamp, LA,
grandchildren, Medaleeana Hurst, Junior Ray Hurst, Tirzah Hurst, Brooklyn Cryer, Tyler Cryer, and Bexlee Funderburk,
and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Dusty LaCaze, Bryan Farmer, Johnathan Ledbetter, Reggie Jeter, Gary Dunn, Justin Eubanks, Scooter Pollock, Junior Hurst, and Toderick Griffin. Honorary pallbearer will be Tyler Cryer.
