Obituary for Jerry Lee Fancher
Funeral services for Jerry Lee Fancher will be held on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Burkeville TX, with Bro. Van Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Sycamore Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
A visitation will be held on Monday, May 29, 2023, at Emmanuel Baptist Church from 5:00 – 8:00 PM.
Jerry Lee Fancher was born on April 14, 1949, in Leesville, LA to Bob and Lola Fancher. He passed away on May 22, 2023 in Lafayette, LA at the age of 74. He graduated from SFA in Port Arthur, TX in 1967 and then enlisted in the Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam. He married the love his life Darlene, and they spent nearly 52 years together. Jerry attended welding school and worked for Texaco as a process operator for many years. He loved fishing and gardening. His grandbabies were his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Robert Fancher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene of Burkville;
daughters, April Martinez (Jesse) of Carrollton, TX, and Melissa Thompson (William, “Tiny”) of Burkeville, TX;
son, Robert Fancher (Tami) of Ohio;
brothers, Roger, Chris and Joe Fancher of Burr Ferry;
sisters, Bobbie Brittain of Burr Ferry, Eva Hargraves of Gary, TX, Lillie Olson of Burkeville, and Vida Fancher of Burr Ferry;
grandchildren, Kellie “Lizzie”, Tony, Abby (Justin), and Becky
great grandchildren, Paisley, Konner, and Kadelynne;
and a host of extended family.
