Obituary for Jerry Allen McGlothlin
Funeral services for Jerry Allen McGlothlin will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville with Reverends Mark Christian and Kenny Pennington officiating. Burial will follow in Wells Cemetery (also known as Union Cemetery) in Slagle under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, August 28th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Jerry was born July 6, 1957, in Port Neches, Texas and passed away August 26, 2021, in Natchitoches, Louisiana at the age of 64. For 38 years, he worked for Boise Cascade as a boiler maker and was a member of Masonic Lodge #147. Jerry enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle with his brothers, camping, and planting and picking tomatoes and peppers which he insisted on sharing with everyone. He loved to be the boss or “delegator”. Most of all, Jerry loved everyone of his grandchildren. They called him PawPaw Buckshot, and he loved them more than life itself.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda McGlothlin; parents, Jackson Willis McGlothlin and Carolyn Collins McGlothlin; brothers, Jackie, Jackson, Ricky, Michael, and Stephen McGlothlin; sister, Debra McGlothlin; and grandchildren, Devin Boycher and Jaxon McGhee.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Jason Cole McGlothlin and wife Crystal of Leesville, LA, Chris Ray Williamson and wife Hailey of Prairieville, LA, and Charles Ray Williamson of Denham Springs, LA;
daughters, Rhonda Lynn Boycher of Leesville, LA, Jeriana DeLane McGhee and husband Jason of Leesville, LA; and Samantha Brooke Lewing and husband Canaan of Anacoco, LA;
sisters, Sheila Scanlon and husband Pete, Lori McGlothlin, and Michele Zman and husband Doug all of Leesville, LA;
PawPaw Buckshot’s beloved grandchildren, Austin Gray and wife Jenna, Brooklyn McGhee, Courtney Lewing, Meadow Boycher, Cheslea McGhee, Kanaan Boycher, Kennedy Boycher, Ryatt Williamson, Anniston Williamson, Sutton McGlothlin, Tatum McGlothlin, Myles Williamson, Jerrison Lewing, one grandchild on the way, and one great grandchild on the way as well;
and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jason McGhee, Jason McGlothlin, Chris Williamson, Charles Williamson, Canaan Lewing, and Austin Gray.
