Obituary for Jeffrey Michael Wenig
A memorial service for Jeffrey Michael Wenig will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Oak Forest Baptist Church, 7336 Kurthwood Road Leesville, LA.
Jeff was born August 30, 1958 in Bowling Green, Ohio and passed away March 19, 2021 in Leesville, LA at the age of 62. He had recently retired from the U.S. Army after serving for over 30 years. During that time, Jeff worked as a heavy machine mechanic and was deployed overseas three times. He served in the Persian Gulf, Afghanistan, and Iraq. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. During his free time, Jeff enjoyed riding and rebuilding motorcycles. The most important thing to him was his family. He looked forward to taking his grandchildren shopping, especially to the Dollar Tree.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Heiman Wenig.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 34 years, Sheryl Turner Wenig of Leesville;
daughters, Lisa Danielle Wenig and Mollie Melise Wenig Hough and husband Richard all of Leesville;
mother, Lois Ann Wenig of Perrysburg, OH;
brother, William James Wenig of Ohio;
sister, Melody Rehard and husband John of Ohio;
grandchildren, Patience Saucier, Alaura Hough, Gage Michael Wenig, Haylea Hough, Jaxon Arthur, Waylon Arthur, and Harleen Hough;
and a host of extended family and friends.
