Obituary for James Olson Johno
A graveside service for James Olson Johno will be held on August 13, 2022 at Glass Window Cemetery in Leesville, LA at 5:00 PM.
The service will be led by Brother Glenn Ducharme of Reeves Bible Church and Brother William Johno of Harvest Time Tabernacle.
On Monday, July 25, 2022, James Olson Johno, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at the age of 78 in Burkeville, TX. James was born on May 14, 1944 in Lake Charles, LA to Odess Eugene Janeau and Norma Lee Sweat Janeau.
James served in the United States Navy from March 1964 to March 1970 on the USS Samuel N. Moore as an electrical repairman. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, and a Republic of Vietnam Medal with Device. Following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy, he continued his career as an electrician at the American Commercial Barge Line, Carl Stewart Electrical and eventually at Citgo Lake Charles Refinery where he retired from after 37 years of employment.
On June 24, 1968, he married Arlene Georgia Hammers. They were married 54 years. James loved to hunt, fish, watch almost any sporting event, and spending time with his family.
James was preceded in death by his father, Odess Janeau; mother, Normal Lee Janeau; and brother, Sammy Janeau.
James is deeply loved and will be missed by his wife, Arlene Georgia Hammers Johno;
children, Sheri Lynn Sellers and husband Jonathan, Carl Odess Johno and wife Trisha, and Hollie Theresa Hollier and husband Mark;
eleven grandchildren, Abigail Sellers, Adelaide Hollier, Alaina Sellers, Dawson Johno, Autumn and Nick Johnston, Colby Hollier, Jaciann and Dalton Hickman, Alyssa and Cole Spooner, Anabelle Sellers, Marlene Johno, and Angel Hollier;
and five great-grandchildren Finley Johnston, Kasen Hollier, Adelynn Blackwell, Lila Fontenot, and Braylon Johnston.
He is also survived by his brothers Kenny Janeau, Ray Johno, William Johno, and Michael Johno.
