Obituary for James Oliver May
Funeral services for James Oliver May will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Hope Springs United Pentecostal Church, formerly East Leesville United Pentecostal Church, with Reverend Wesley Manning officiating. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time for the family and friends of Mr. May will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 6th at the church.
Mr. May was born on April 2, 1948, and passed away on June 3, 2019, at the age of 71. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam. While there, Mr. May earned two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars, and was recognized as a decorated hero. Later, he worked as a correctional officer for almost twenty years. Mr. May was a very dignified gentleman who enjoyed gardening, farming, and watching western and military movies. He was a member of Hope Springs United Pentecostal Church.
Mr. May was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Frank May and Frances Thompson May; daughter, Ginger Gayle Enriquez; brother, Pete May; and sister, Jean Lane.

daughter, Sandra Diane Wilson of Anacoco, LA

great grandchildren, Aaden Enriquez and Maddie Enriquez
and a host of nieces and nephews.
