Obituary for James "Jim" Oliver Samuel
A memorial service for James “Jim” Oliver Samuel will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m.at Crystal Springs Baptist Church, 4341 Hwy. 111 Ancoco, LA 71403, with Reverend Rodney Hicks officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Jim was born on December 10, 1962, to Marvin and Vercia Samuel and passed away on February 15, 2017, at the age of 54. Being outside was one of the things Jim enjoyed. He worked in his garden, raised animals, and hunted. Jim loved to ride horses and listen to country music. While he was a logger, his favorite job was to drive a skidder. His greatest love was his family, and Jim will be greatly missed.
Preceding him in death were his mother – Vercia Samuel, one brother – Michael Samuel, and two sisters – Barbara Shamblin and Sharon Samuel
Left to cherish his memory is his father – Marvin Samuel of Leesville, Louisiana
Companion – Cathy Turner of Leesville, LA
Daughter – Cora Tyson of DeRidder, LA
Stepsons – James Turner and wife Crystal of Slagle, LA and Aaron Turner and wife Taylor of Slagle, LA
Stepdaughters – Jessica Phillips and husband Randy of Cravens, LA and Crystal Maddox and husband “Charles” of Leesville, LA
Brothers: Jack Samuel and wife Debbie of Texas and Raleigh Samuel and wife Sheri of Leesville, LA
Sisters: Rose Marquis of TX, Loretta Simpson and husband Don of TX, and Tina Samuel and husband Danny of Mississippi
Grandchildren: Kameron and Kaleigh Tyson; Johnathan “J.J.” Hardcastle; Brandon and Johnny Heptinstall; Matthew and Caden Maddox; and Skyler and Lagen Turner
