Obituary for James Henery Stephens
Graveside services for James H. Stephens will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020, 11:00AM at Castor Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2020 from 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM at Jeane’s Funeral Service Chapel. Please observe social distancing guidelines, and everyone is strongly encouraged to wear a mask.
James Henery Stephens was born on September 13, 1929 in Temple, LA to William Riliey Stephens, JR and Mary Jane Killen. He passed away peacefully at home on July 6, 2020, at the age of 90. James had a third grade education and was hearing impaired. He was an excellent lip reader. He was a truck driver and worked many years for American Moving and Storage. James was a very hard worker and provided for his family. He was tough as nails and strong as an ox. He loved to fish, hunt, and garden. He was a man of great honor and lived his life in this manner.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Linda, Kathleen Gale, Elisha Ann, sons, Tommy Dale, Charles Donald, brothers, Herman Sydney and William Stephens, and sisters, Mary Eula, Annie Mae and Myrtle West.
He is survived by his daughters, Dina Ezell of Leesville, LA and Sereina Stephens of Lubbock, TX
brother, Robert Franklin Stephens of New Mexico
sisters, Ruby Edna and Dorothy Stephens both of Texas
16 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren
