Allen was born February 7, 1946, in Many, Louisiana and passed away September 2, 2023, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 77. He attended Florien High School where he played basketball and led his team to state four years in a row. After graduating in 1964, he served in the U.S. Marines and was stationed in Vietnam. Allen earned several medals including the Vietnam Service Medal with 2 stars, RVN Campaign Ribbon with Vico 1960, National Defense Service Medal, and Purple Heart. After his service in the military, he started a 33-year career in Civil Service. Allen was an active member of the Hornbeck Community where he served as a past president of the Hornbeck Optimist Club and helped manage the hunting club lease for Bayou Toro. Huning, fishing, and camping were things he enjoyed doing as well as anything that he could do at the lake. He was a proud “Ford Man” and only owned Ford trucks. Allen had a giving heart and would help anyone he could. He attended Harmony Cove Baptist Church and was a past member of the NRA. Most of all, Allen loved his family.
