Obituary for James Alfred Blount
Funeral services for James Alfred Blount will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26, 2021, at Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Kenny Lowery officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation time will be held at the church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
James was born July 4, 1955, in Rison, Arkansas and passed away August 23, 2021, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 66. For many years, he drove a cab in Leesville and worked in Role Play at Fort Polk. James loved to barbeque and would often just sit and listen to old country music on the radio. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Alfred Blount and Ruby Lene Albritton and infant son, James Lee Blount.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Charlene Brock;
sons, Donald Blount and wife Mandy of Hicks, LA and Joseph Blount of Leesville, LA;
daughters, Amanda Jeane and husband Melvin of Evans, LA and Joanie Redd of Leesville, LA;
grandchildren, Grant Jeane, Grason Jeane, Sadie Jeane, Breianna Blount, Patrick Redd Jr., and Robert Morris Redd II;
sister, Carylon Blount of Leesville, LA;
niece and nephew, Melanie Quesenberry and Joey Quesenberry;
and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Jeane, Grant Jeane, Grason Jeane, Wayne Brock, Freddy Brock, and Donald Blont.
