Obituary for Jacquelyn Nell Gallia-Adams
Funeral services for Mrs. Jacquelyn (Jackie) Gallia-Adams will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 East Union St. Leesville, with Deacon Bill Endris officiating. Burial will follow in the Castor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the service time in the chapel of Jeane’s. Mrs. Adams was born September 30, 1940, in Leesville to Oscar Irwin Smith and Callie Graham Smith and passed away on October 31, 2018. in Leesville at the age of 78. She graduated from Leesville High School in 1958 and received her Bachelors Degree in mathematics from NSU. Mrs. Adams then attended LSU where she received her Master’s in mathematics. After receiving her degrees, she taught school in Clinton, LA; St. Louis, MO; and in the Philippines. After moving back to Leesville, Mrs. Adams taught mathematics at Leesville Junior High School. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Kurthwood Homemaker’s Association, and several quilting guilds.
Preceding her in death was her first husband Jim Gallia, second husband Bruce Adams, her parents, and two brothers.
Survivors are her brothers Mark Smith of South Carolina and David Smith and wife Yvonne of Hot Springs, AR
One sister: Linda Choate and husband Dan of Hot Springs, AR
Four nieces, two nephews
