Jackye was born October 31, 1966, in Many, Louisiana and passed away August 21, 2023, in Longview, Texas, at the age of 56. Jackye was a friend who loved you out loud - really, really loud. She loved with all of her heart and truly cared about those in her friend circle. No matter how long it had been, no matter what the world had thrown at you, when you needed a friend who would love you right where you were, when you needed someone who would be there for you, she was your girl. Jackye promised to always be our friend and she did. She was a member of Mobberly Baptist Church, a pre-teen Sunday School teacher, a member of the choir, and a deacon’s wife. Jackye spent her life as an encourager and nurturer. She was a prayer warrior and would stop everything and pray for you.
From the time that she was young, everyone knew that Jackye would be a teacher. It is who she was and what she was created to do. She loved her students! If you were ever her students, you will always and forever be her kid. She promised as an educator to teach kids and to love them. She did just that. Jackye taught Kindergarten for over 30 years, 22 of those for Pine Tree ISD.
Jackye was preceded in death by her mother, Patsy Cavanaugh. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 27 years, Carl Mosley of Longview, TX; children, Jordan and Adam Mosley. Her father, Jack Cavanaugh of Hornbeck, LA; brother Rondle Cavanaugh of Bossier City, LA; Mother-in-law, Joyce Mosley of Waskom, TX; Rhonda and Don Roy of Blanco, TX; Susan and Scotty Mizell of Heflin, LA; Tim Mosley of Waskom, TX; Amy Mosley of Big Lake, AK; and extended family members.
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me - the task of testifying to the Good News of God’s grace. Acts 20:24
