Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, October 9th beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service on Sunday.
Jackie Dee Tibbits was born December 20, 1935, in Anacoco, LA. She passed away at home on October 6, 2021, at the age of 85. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and hunting in her earlier years. Jackie was a homemaker for a while before going to work for the Vernon Parish School Board. She began cooking in the school cafeteria where she loved seeing the kids and serving food. Jackie called them “her kids” and wanted to make sure every child ate a hot meal. After working in the cafeteria, she moved to the School Board Office and was there until her retirement. She was a member of Beech Grove Congregational Methodist for a number of years then joined East Leesville Baptist Church where she attended faithfully until her health began to decline.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Cryer; son, Johnnie DeWayne Cryer; parents, K.D. & Inez Tibbitts; and sister, Ledith Marie Harvey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Sandy Wilgus and son-in-law Dick Wilgus of Anacoco, LA;
granddaughter, Christy Williams Conque of Youngsville, LA;
great granddaughters, Jersey Renee and Ivy Simone;
sisters-in-law, Diane Stutes and husband Richard of DeRidder, LA & Linda Cryer of Monroe, LA and their families;
step grandchildren, Jan & Mike Forzano of Chandler, TX, Karen & Randy Alexander, of Chandler, TX, Mark & Karen Wilgus of Brownsboro, TX, Randy & Tennille Wilgus of Jasper, TX, Phil & Jennifer of Wilgus, TX, and their families;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Hospice of Natchitoches Foundation. https://www.hospiceofnatchitoches.com/
A special "Thank You" to all her care givers and Dr. Lord & staff for caring for Mother and supporting our family. It meant a lot. Also, we appreciate a very dear friend, Loretta Poe, for her love and care.
