Obituary for Jack Henry Toney
Funeral services for Jack will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Toledo Bend Bible Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday, February 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Jack Henry Toney was born July 24, 1943, and passed away January 31, 2022, at the age of 78. He worked for many years as a timber buyer for Boise Cascade. Jack was also self-employed as the owner of Toney Land & Timber where he would buy and sell timber and land. He was a hard-working man who liked to stay busy. After his retirement, Jack spent many hours working on his land and spending time in the woods. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Louisiana Cattleman’s Association and Toledo Bend Bible Baptist Church where he served faithfully for over 30 years. Besides his relationship with the Lord, the most important thing to Jack was his family. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart, and left a loving, Christian legacy for them to follow.
Jack was preceded in death by his son, David Wayne Toney; parents, John Henry Toney and Jimmie B Stark Toney; sister, Maggie Chaney; and brother-in-law, Gordan Phelps.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Ann Toney of Anacoco, LA;
son, Gaylon Toney and wife Wanda of Anacoco, LA;
daughter, Kelley Shayna Moore and husband Richard of Anacoco, LA;
grandchildren, Kacie Bailey and husband Billy Joe, Jordan Haymon and husband Casey, Cole Moore, Dalton Moore, and Brandon Toney;
sister, Georgia Ruth Phelps of Lumberton, TX;
nieces, Donna Di Dio and husband Michael and Ronna Phelps;
great niece, Jessica Gonzales and husband J.T.;
brothers-in-law, Larry Aubin and wife Debby & their children Chad and Jeremy, Bob Aubin and wife Barbara & their children Kimberly and Holly, and Alan Aubin and wife Bea;
and a host of friends whose lives were made better by his friendship.
Pallbearers will be Gaylon Toney, Richard Moore, Brandon Toney, Cole Moore, Dalton Moore, Casey Haymon, Billy Joe Bailey, and Butch Stevens.
