Obituary for Jack Edwards
A graveside service with full military honors for Jack Edwards will be held on December 20, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in Ebenezar Cemetery in Hicks, LA with Randall Bryan officiating. Jack was born in Richmond, Virginia to George and Gladys Edwards and passed away in Alexandria, LA at the age of 80. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 16. During his time of service, he served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. Jack was a military police officer and retired after over twenty years of service. After his retirement, Jack worked for the provost marshall�s office at Fort Polk, was a deputy sheriff with the Vernon Parish Sheriff Department, was a code enforcement officer for the city of Leesville, and worked for the West Vernon Parish Water District. Jack was a hard worker and loved being around people. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Masons. Preceding him in death are his parents: George and Gladys Edwards, stepson: Larry Clifton Eaves, and his late wife: Ada Edwards. Survivors are his wife of 21 years: Barbara Edwards of Anacoco, LA Sons: George Washington Edwards and wife Rhonda of Anacoco, LA and Ricky Edwards of Montgomery, LA Stepsons: John Wayne Vandiford and wife Christine of Hornbeck, LA and Micheal Lynn Eaves and wife Cynthia of Anacoco, LA Daughters: Karen Vansayv of Indiana and Brenda Jones of Kentucky Stepdaughters: Rhonda Kaye Manning and husband Buddy of Wilson, North Carolina and Opal Veronica Orr and husband Steve of Tioga, LA Four grandchildren Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com on fb at Jeane Funeral Service
